Charters Towers Regional Council is calling on dog owners and amateur photographers for the Dogs of the Towers photography competition.
Now in its third year, Council is hoping this year will be bigger than ever. Themed ‘Best Mates,’ the competition gives residents the opportunity to show off their best mate and camera skills.
“Our community loves their dogs and there’s a lot of budding photographers out there, said Mayor Liz Schmidt.
“The competition is a fun way to recognise our responsible dog owners and to raise awareness of pet registration. So, grab your camera and show us why your dog is your best mate!”
The competition is open to residents of all ages living in the Charters Towers Region who own a dog currently registered with Council and are amateur photographers. Entries open 9am Monday, 15 April and close 3pm Friday, 17 May.
Photos will be displayed online and in Target Country’s shopfront window from 6 May. The community can vote for their favourites by using the voting box or on Facebook to create a shortlist of finalists.
