2018 LJ Hooker Reg Cowden Memorial Sports Star of the Year Awards Presentation

The Annual Reg Cowden Awards were presented recently at an afternoon tea at the Lithgow City Council Chambers on Wednesday 27 March 2019.

For a second year, Council held the afternoon tea in the Council Chambers for the winners and their families to enjoy a more relaxed atmosphere, which has positively increased the number of attendees.

Councillor Joe Smith was delighted to announce the winners of the awards being;

2018 Encouragement Award – Alex Evans for Swimming.

2018 Junior Team Achievement of the Year – Lithgow U13’s State Age Netball Team.

2018 Senior Team Achievement of the Year – Lithgow Workmen’s Valley Women’s Bowling Club.

2018 Laurie Muir Official of the Year – Graham Healey for Athletics.

2018 Bunny Abbott Volunteer of the Year – Peter Morris for Rugby League.

2018 Mac Scott Memorial Trophy for All Round Sportsmanship –Harry Bender for Rugby League, Cricket and Golf.

2018 Whitty Perpetual Trophy – Alice Kingston for Goalball.

2018 International Sports Star of the Year Trophy – David Palmer for Squash.

2018 Eric Arnold Memorial Trophy – Angus Clues for Athletics.

2018 Reg Cowden Memorial Junior Sports Star of the Year – Lucy Green for Tennis.

2018 Reg Cowden Memorial Senior Sports Star of the Year – Lachlan Sharp for Hockey.
