On Wednesday night, 26 March 2019, we celebrated our inspirational young community members at the Bayside Youth Awards. Over 50 nominations were received in five categories. Bayside’s Mayor, Cr Michael Heffernan said that all nominees were to be congratulated on their achievements: “This year we have received worthy nominations from schools, families, sports clubs, lifesaving clubs and community groups.”
“I am in awe of the talent and resilience demonstrated by the nominees and impressed by the young people living in our community,“ said Cr Heffernan.

An inspiring keynote address was given by Jake Edwards, the CEO and founder of Outside the Locker Room, a not for profit organisation dedicated to supporting sports clubs, schools and work places in welfare education.
The Bayside Youth Awards are organised every two years by Bayside Youth Services.
