Bathurst Regional Council is calling for expressions of interestfor a potential fifth event at the Mount Panorama Motor Racing Circuit.
The circuit currently hosts four major events annually which require full track closures - the Bathurst 12 Hour, the Bathurst 6 Hour, the Bathurst 1000 and Challenge Bathurst.
Mayor of Bathurst Cr Graeme Hanger OAM said an opportunity exists for a fifth motor racing event at Mount Panorama and Council is seeking expressions of interest from experienced motor racing event promoters.
“Mount Panorama is an iconic motor racing venue and Council is keen to hear from experienced motor sport promoters about their ideas for a fifth motor sport event at the circuit.”
“Each of the motor sport events currently held at Mount Panorama are unique in their own right. We are looking for options for a fifth event that adds to the offering available to motor sport fans at Mount Panorama.”
Details on the expressions of interest process are available on Council’s website (https://www.bathurst.nsw.gov.au/council/council/tenders-expressions-of-interest.html) and must be submitted by 4pm Tuesday 23 April 2019.
Background:
The Mount Panorama Circuit is a public road, and under the Mount Panorama Motor Racing Act 1989 up to five full track closures are permissible in a year to conduct motor sport events. Mount Panorama currently hosts four major events which require full track closures.
