Entries for this year’s Waste2Art exhibition and competition are now open. Waste 2 Art is a recycled art competition which challenges the way we think about waste, there are categories for everyone from pre-school aged children through to aspiring and professional artists.

Land Ballot
Council has released a new residential land development to be known as Sunnybright Estate (off Limekilns Road, Kelso). The first stage release will be way of public ballot and registration for the ballot is now open and closes at 4.00pm on Friday 5 April.

George and Howick Street Roundabout Upgrade

Youth Week 10 – 18 April
NSW Youth Week is a celebration of young people. It is organised by young people for young people in communities across NSW and Australia.
Bathurst will celebrate Youth Week with the following events:
Yjam In The Park
YJAM in the Park will be held Friday 5 April from 6:00pm-10:00pm in Machattie Park.
YJAM in the Park is a youth music event featuring performances from several young local musicians.
Free entry, with food and drinks available for purchase.
This is a fully supervised, drug and alcohol free event that aims to promote youth inclusion in the

Fanfiction Writing Workshop
Fanfiction is a story written by a fan of, and featuring characters from, a particular TV
series, movie, book etc. Writers explore the world of fanfiction and creating their own
stories. This workshop is for young people 12-17 years.

Augmented Reality (AR) Escape Room Challenge
The Library will partner with Rein Turley of Save the Children to deliver two AR
programs. On Wednesday there will be a group of eight children creating the AR Escape Room, then on Thursday there will be multiple sessions for small groups to 'escape' the room. This program is for young people 12-17 years.

Bluntside Youth Week Clinic
Ricky from Bluntside Skatepark Tours will lead workshops for skateboards and scooters.

Welcome Wagon Mayoral Reception
Have you recently relocated to Bathurst or know someone who has? Bathurst Regional Council, in partnership with Bathurst Business Chamber invites you to the next Welcome Wagon Mayoral Reception on Thursday, 11 April at 5.30pm at the Bathurst Visitors Information Centre. Construction of new taxi shelter
A new shelter on Howick Street near the Stockland Shopping Centre is being constructed. Temporary changes to pedestrian and taxi access will be in place while works are underway. The taxi zone will be relocated towards Bentinck Street to the unused bus zone. There will be minimal impact to traffic in the area.
ClubGRANTS
Council invites local community organisations to apply for funding from the 2019
ClubGRANTS Scheme, under Category 1 criteria.
Applications close at 4pm on Friday 26 April. Further information regarding ClubGRANTS

Heritage Assistance Grants
Applications are now invited for small grants for the following funds:
Bathurst Region Heritage Fund
Provides small grants for the repair and maintenance of older buildings in the region. The program is supported by the NSW Heritage Branch of the Office of Environment and Heritage.
Bathurst CBD Main Street Improvement Fund
Provides small grants to assist property owners and tenants to improve, repair and maintain buildings within the Bathurst CBD.
Bathurst Region Interpretation Fund
Provides small grants for the preparation of Conservation Management Plans, historic publications and interpretation projects to promote and interpret the region’s history.
Applications for funding must be made on Council’s application form which is available on Council’s website at www.bathurst.nsw.gov.au or from the Civic Centre. The closing date for applications is 31 May.
