ROADS UPDATE at 4.20pm March 29: the Mulligan Highway is closed at the McLeod River (0.5m over and falling) and the Little Annan is open. On the Peninsula Development Road heading north, the road remains closed with the Laura River North 3.9m over and steady, the Archer River 4.3m over and steady and numerous other sections damaged and crossings flooded from the recent heavy rains. Remember to check road conditions before you travel at www.cook.qld.gov.au/services/disaster and if it's flooded forget it.
