ROADS UPDATE at 12.20pm March 29: the Mulligan Highway is closed at the McLeod River (0.75m over and falling) and the Little Annan is open. On the Peninsula Development Road heading north, the road remains closed with the Laura River North 4m over and rising, the Archer River 4.3m over and rising and numerous other sections damaged and crossings flooded from the recent heavy rains. Remember to check road conditions before you travel at www.cook.qld.gov.au/services/disaster and if it's flooded forget it. Next update at 2.20pm.
