The talents of Corangamite Shire’s upcoming artists will be revealed to the public at the gala opening of the Corangamite Youth Art Exhibition as part of local Victorian Youth Week celebrations.
Youth Projects Officer Jen Rowan said the exhibition, which will open at Courthouse Camperdown on Friday 5 April, was a great opportunity for emerging artists to share their work with the community.
“There are a lot of really talented young creatives across the Shire and this is a chance for them to put their work in the spotlight.
Ms Rowan said the exhibition would coincide with Victorian Youth Week which was a celebration of people aged 12-25.
“This event will celebrate the positive contributions young people make to our region, and highlight the artistic talent of our local youth community” she said.
“Victorian Youth Week is a time for young people to express their ideas, views and aspirations while supporting each other’s creativity.”
The opening night at Courthouse Camperdown on Friday 5 April will have live music by young artists, light nibbles, and non-alcoholic drinks for purchase.
The exhibition is in partnership with Courthouse Camperdown Inc. and the Corangamite Shire FReeZA Committee and will show during April.
Young people interested in showcasing their art are encouraged to contact Ms Rowan or Youth Development Officer Helena Walsh on 5593 7100, message 0439 156 601, or email [email protected].
