Yarra Ranges Council is introducing a fee for land valuations for public open space requirements under the Subdivision Act 1988.
Council requires a contribution to upgrade and maintain existing and future reserves and parks in the area.
As subdivisions continue to occur and more people decide to live in the municipality, there is an increased need for public open space.
In the past, Council has covered the cost of the first valuation for subdivisions, but as of 1 July 2019 applicants for subdivision applications will be required to pay $395 for the valuation of land being subdivided.

Planning Services has informed all surveyors via a letter in the mail this month, three months ahead of the changes
