Although ex-TC Trevor bought much-needed rain to some western districts, others experienced major flood events in the north west region. Boulia received more than 85 mm in just two days last week, but locals including the Mayor Rick Britton found innovative ways to relieve indoor boredom, who threw out a line in his front yard. Since then, the remnants of Trevor has bought a cool change in the weather, which has been mostly welcomed by residents who have experienced heatwaves and floods over the last few months. According to the Bureau of Meteorology overnight temperatures are set to plummet into the teens, with 19 degrees being the highest in Mount Isa on Saturday April 6. Daily temperatures range from 29-33 degrees with a zero percent chance of rainfall on the horizon this week. Boulia/Mount Isa Highway is undergoing pavement rehabilitation and widening due to the recent wet weather so motorists can expect delays with reduced lanes in both directions. Almost 12 km of the Diamantina Developmental Road between Boulia and Dajarra will be upgraded, from about 5km to 18km north of Boulia. Works will be completed from March 2019 to mid-2019 weather permitting. Cloncurry Duchess Road and the Duchess Dajarra Road have a speed limit in place, with road works continuing, and delays in both directions expected.
