Council is seeking residents’ thoughts and ideas on how to provide more opportunities for people to be active members of our diverse community as we develop our Inclusion Strategy 2019-2022.
The strategy aims to improve access and inclusion so that everyone feels welcome to participate and engage with Council and the broader community.
Councillor for Community Development and Gender Equality Helen Healy said a new survey, currently available on Council’s website, is a quick and easy way to provide feedback.
“The development of our new Inclusion Strategy is a vital step to ensure we continue to evolve and adapt with our ever changing community,” Cr Healy said.
“Despite being located in a relatively remote part of Victoria, we’re so fortunate to be home to a diverse and vibrant community, which is constantly growing, with new residents, new ideas and beliefs.
“As a Council, we need to ensure our Inclusion Strategy reflects this growth, both now and into the future, to ensure we have the most accessible and inclusive community possible.”
Council’s Inclusion Strategy survey can be accessed by visiting www.mildura.vic.gov.au/HaveYourSay where residents can either take the survey online or download a copy to fill out later.
The survey will remain open until Friday 19 April.
Responses to the survey will be considered in the development of the Inclusion Strategy 2019-2022, which will go before Council later this year.
