Nominations have been extended for the 2019 Ballarat Heritage and Design Excellence Awards.
The community now has until 5pm on Monday 8 April to submit their nominations for the five categories, including the new Mayoral Award for emerging heritage and design practitioners.
This exciting new Award recognises an outstanding individual or group of emerging practitioners with less than seven years of experience in cultural heritage and design fields, such as tertiary students, designers, architects, archaeologists, historians, curators, archivists, planners, conservators, tradespeople and researchers.
The ceremony date has also shifted to be the official opening for the Ballarat Heritage Weekend and will feature sneak previews of what’s on offer.
Nominations can be made online at mysay.ballarat.vic.gov.au for the following categories:
Conservation of a heritage place or object New designs in a heritage context Excellence in heritage skills Communicating, promoting and celebrating heritage
And the newly created:
Mayoral Award for emerging heritage and design practitioners
Nominations close 5pm on Monday 8 April, 2019. Winners will be announced at an event and awards ceremony on Friday 24 May, 2019 to open the Ballarat Heritage Weekend.
