New moveable planter seats have been installed in Cook Street Plaza this week.  The Planter Seats which add new vibrancy and life to the Plaza are also able to be removed to allow the Plaza to be transformed for events like Halloween, Christmas displays or other activities designed to encourage visitation and shop local initiatives.

“The community can rest assured though, that while the planter seating is designed to be moved, they are not able to be picked up and carried away”. Said Mayor Thompson.

“Whilst the fresh, green of the foliage has uplifted the plaza, the community will see splashes of colour introduced in Spring as the magnolias and other plants come into bloom, continuing the theme of plantings in other locations along Main Street”.  continued the Mayor.

“Council is also currently examining options for shading in the Plaza and a report will be presented to Council in the near future.  It is hoped, with Council approval and budget permitting to have something in place for Summer.” Concluded Mayor Thompson.
