Media Response: 26/03/2019 – Curra Estate Road Incident

Enquiry regarding an incident at Curra this morning. A school girl aged 5 was hit by a car after going behind the school bus… Residents are calling for the Curra Estate Road to be widened, bus stops to be implemented and the speed limit to be reduced from 80km to 70km.

Council spokesperson: It is always concerning when accidents occur on our region’s roads, especially when children are involved. While the investigation of traffic accidents are primarily a police concern, Council utilises data generated from these incidents to assess the safety and functionality of our roads.  

This includes the setting of speed limits.
