Nominations Closing Soon for Volunteer Recognition Celebration
City of Rockingham 5 Apr 2019

The City’s Volunteer Recognition Celebration will focus on highlighting the fantastic work volunteers do across the community. The celebration will be held on Thursday 23 May 2019, during National Volunteer Week.

In the build-up to the celebration residents can nominate one dedicated volunteer from a not-for-profit organisation, community group or sporting club, who will be formally recognised and acknowledged at the celebration.

City of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels urged residents to nominate a deserving volunteer before submissions close.

"The City’s Volunteer Recognition Celebration gives the community an opportunity to acknowledge the amazing efforts of our hard working volunteers in many different roles across the City," Mayor Sammels said.

"Volunteers are a crucial resource to our community and it is thanks to their dedication and generosity that we are all able to enjoy the many community groups, not-for-profit organisations and sporting clubs that are available.

"If you know someone who deserves to be acknowledged for their efforts then I encourage you to nominate that person for the 2019 City of Rockingham Volunteer Celebration before it’s too late."
