Following the outstanding interest in last year’s Creating Effective Digital Content workshop, Corangamite Shire is presenting a series of workshops next month to help businesses market themselves online.
Council has teamed up with Melbourne Innovation Centre to present four Tuesday night workshops that will give guidance on how to use online strategies to attract customers.
Manager Growth and Engagement Rory Neeson said the popularity of the Creating Effective Digital Content workshop in August last year demonstrated there was high demand for advice on how to take businesses online.
“The internet has changed the way people do business and our goal is to help locals make the most of online opportunities.
“The Melbourne Innovation Centre has been around since 1998 and has helped 400 start-up and scale-up businesses which has meant new jobs and millions of dollars into the economy.
Mr Neeson said social media could provide cost effective ways for operators to promote their business, get market feedback and respond to customers.
“There are a lot of possibilities out there but every business needs to find the best strategy for them.
“That’s where constructive advice from an experienced mentoring organisation like the Melbourne Innovation Centre can be really valuable.”
The program provides support to enhance small business digital skills, with a one-off membership fee of $55.
The fee provides access to four workshops; two hours of one-on-one mentoring, interactive webinars, and 24/7 access to learning material via the Learning Management System, provided through the Federal Government’s Australian Small Business Advisory Services (ASBAS) Digital Solutions program.
