What better way to escape the autumn chill during the school holidays than a heart-warming movie and hot popcorn?

Corangamite Shire will present a free screening of Christopher Robin at the Theatre Royal in Camperdown on Thursday 11 April.

Manager Growth and Engagement Rory Neeson said the film, starring Ewan McGregor, combines live action and animation.

“This is a great family film with humor and the magical toy animal characters for the kids and nostalgia and a positive message for the parents as well,” Mr Neeson said.

“We’d invite everyone to come along to the Camperdown Theatre Royal and enjoy a day out with friends and family in a safe and welcoming environment.”

Mr Neeson said the free movie was part of Council’s arts and culture program and a great opportunity to enjoy a new release on the big screen.

“We have also lined our screenings up to match in with Pope’s bus times from Timboon to make it convenient for viewers from Timboon and Cobden,” he said.

In the film Christopher Robin is grown up and a living in the city, far from the Hundred Acre Wood.

He gets a surprise visit from his childhood friend Winnie-the-Pooh and the pair set out to find Tigger, Eeyore, Owl, Piglet, Rabbit, Kanga and Roo, and Christopher rediscovers the joy of life.

Mr Neeson said there was no charge for entry with food and drink including popcorn available for purchase.

“The Bath Street doors open at 1 pm for a 1:30 pm start,” he said.
