Call to obey parking bay signs

Motorists are reminded to obey parking signs located throughout Gannawarra Shire Council’s towns.
Two-hour parking restrictions are in place in bays located in the central business districts of Cohuna and Kerang.
“Parking for longer than two hours in these bays impact negatively on the businesses in both Cohuna and Kerang,” Mayor Lorraine Learmonth.
“These restrictions are in place to ensure motorists can access local services.
“By parking longer than the allotted time, motorists are impacting on the trade of local businesses as shoppers may choose to go elsewhere if they cannot park close to their desired destination.”
Motorists who park in two-hour bays longer than the permitted time may be fined $81.00.
