Online publication to make Motorcycling the Hunter even easier

Motorcycling enthusiasts across the Hunter are set to benefit from a new online guide showcasing the most popular motorcycle rides in our region — from pristine coastlines to wine country roads and beyond.  

An online version of the popular ‘Motorcycling the Hunter’ publication has been officially launched this morning, following the release of the print edition during Motorcycle Awareness month in 2018.  

The publication has been a joint effort between Cessnock, Dungog, Maitland, Mid Coast and Port Stephens councils.  

Cessnock City Council’s Road Safety Officer, Warren Jeffrey said Motorcycling the Hunter is aimed at ensuring a motorcycle trip to the Hunter is enjoyable and safe.  

“The Hunter is home to some of the most popular motorcycling routes in NSW. In the five years to September 2018 there were 508 motorcycle crashes in the Hunter Council areas of Cessnock, Port Stephens, Maitland, Dungog and MidCoast.”  

“Since we launched the hard copy publication in October last year more than 5000 copies have been taken up by the motorcycling community. The online version will allow for better access to the publication and we look forward to seeing it more widely used.”  

Motorcycling the Hunter showcases the best routes in the Hunter and promotes safety for all riders. Active motorcycle riders have been heavily involved in putting it together.
