Frankston City Council Budget Consultation

At a Special Council meeting on Monday 8 April, 2019, Frankston City Council endorsed the proposed 2019/2020 Annual Budget.

Frankston City Mayor, Michael O’Reilly said it was a great outcome for Council with many projects to benefit the City.

“Councillors voted to endorse the proposed Annual Budget at a Special Meeting on Monday night, which is a great outcome and I commend everyone involved in the process, that worked particularly well this year,” said the Mayor.

“The Budget details how we intend to fund important community services, infrastructure, capital works and other programs over the next 12 months across our City.

“We know that community facilities such as sporting ovals, recreation reserves and open spaces are crucial to maintain the health and wellbeing of our community. Therefore, we have allocated almost $17 million to continue making improvements to these facilities, which include libraries, community centres, family support and aged facilities, recreation and aquatic facilities.

“The Budget shows Council is focused on improving where we live. As a city we are growing and our population is growing along with it, therefore it is vital that we continue to deliver needed services, maintain our assets and invest in new community-focused infrastructure.”

The Budget is now open for community consultation and a public briefing will take place on Wednesday 17 April at 6.30pm in the Council Chambers.

Frankston City residents are encouraged to attend the briefing where a question and answer session will be held with the Councillors and Executive Management Team afterwards.

Submissions are to be made in writing and must be received by 5pm Tuesday 7 May, 2019.
