There will be plenty to see and do this month in the Gympie region to celebrate the school holidays.

Bring the whole family to the free family fun day at the Gympie Regional Gallery, on Saturday 13 April from 10am to 1pm. Join in free creative activities thanks to the Queensland Art Gallery,  Gallery of Modern Art Kids on Tour APT9 program.

One of the activities running during the family fun day is the legend of the rainbow stag. Children can recreate their own version of the rainbow stag using a die-cut paper template and wall-based poster backgrounds.

Food and drinks will be available to purchase.

Also at the gallery on Thursday 18 April from 10am to 12pm, is the Special FX: Blood and Scars session.

Join Bentley as you make pretend blood, wounds, scars and bullet holes. Bentley has worked on movie sets creating monsters, characters and SFX for over 25 years. The session is for kids 8 and over and costs $12.

At the Tin Can Bay library on 12 April from 11am to 12pm, kids 5 to 7 years can join in free activities and craft, based on the book “Have you Seen my Dragon” written by Steven Light.

Skidz4Kidz at the Victory Heights Trail Network on Thursday 18 April from 10am to 12pm, is for younger kids between the ages of 5-10 years, to give them the confidence to explore the local off-road mountain biking area.

Kids will need to bring their own bike and helmet or talk to the providers about hiring equipment.

For children 10 and under, Come and Try Squash at the Victory Squash Centre on 17 April from 9.30am to 11am at 41 Browns Road, Gympie. Squash is an activity for children to be active and gain new skills while learning about this amazing game. The event costs $3, just bring sports shoes and water bottle to stay hydrated.
