Farmers Creek Community Planting Day to be held at Albert Street
In conjunction with the Lithgow Oberon Landcare Association, Lithgow City Council invites residents to participate in a tree planting day at Albert Street Bridge Lithgow from 10:00 am until 12:30 pm Thursday 18 April 2019.
“Come and help reestablish native plant species and improve Lithgow’s unique landscape” said Lithgow Mayor, Councillor Ray Thompson.
Council continues to improve the city’s landscape for all residents and visitors as part of the Farmers Creek Master Plan. The Master Plan will improve biodiversity along the creek through bank restoration and revegetation along with the installation shared paths and bridges along Farmers Creek.
“The Albert Street planting day is being held during school holidays so kids, along with their parents, can be involved in a productive and fun community event. No experience is necessary and a sausage sizzle will be provided“, continued Mayor, Ray Thompson.
Participants are requested to wear sturdy shoes, gloves, hat and weather appropriate clothes.
“Come and enhance the health of our environment by assisting in this family friendly, volunteer and fun activity” stated Councillor Thompson.
