Lithgow Tourism in partnership with the Lithgow Tourism Industry has launched a digital/social media marketing campaign called “Lithgow 360° – Your Adventure Awaits”.

This week has seen the launch of the “360 Degrees of Lithgow” online social media/digital marketing campaign. Seven destination movies will be the foundation stones of the campaign, with local tourism businesses encouraged to participate.

Digital Media and Advertising will include a mixture of advertising channels, including:

Google Display Network of banners Google AdWords to promote festivals and events Facebook ads of the new movies Instagram ads of photos and images YouTube to promote the new movies and snippets Profiled email database of 10,000 people

“The need to brand and market our region is key for promoting local competitiveness and for capturing significant mind and market share”, said Lithgow Mayor, Councillor Ray Thompson. “The campaign message is incredibly strong – Lithgow has amazing locations, experiences and stories everywhere you look – 360 Degrees of Lithgow”.

“An industry wide campaign is essential to promote and showcase the Lithgow region as a destination in its own right. The Lithgow destination has so many amazing stories, experiences and operators and we aim to encapsulate this and take it to market for the benefit of the entire tourism industry in Lithgow” added the Mayor.

The “Lithgow 360°” campaign was developed by Leonards Advertising working with Council Economic Development and Tourism staff. Leonards are preferred supplier to Local Government in NSW and have recently been awarded a 3 year contract by Sydney City Council. Leonards project staff have strong connections to the Lithgow area and have been responsible for highly successful campaigns in both Mudgee and Bathurst.

The campaign features multiple buy in levels to suit all businesses and each offers a level of exposure that would typically cost much more if purchased individually. The advantages of an industry wide campaign are bulk buying power for advertising space and the more businesses participating the wider the scope of the campaign.

The campaign will run from the 11th April until the end of the year and will be ‘always on’. For more details of how to buy in to the campaign please contact Lithgow City Council’s Tourism Manager Simon Francis on 0427 929 944 or [email protected]
