New amenities for Tarlington Reserve

Fairfield City Mayor Frank Carbone said sporting fields were in demand from local clubs, so Council is building the Tarlington Reserve amenities block to make the space more useable for them.

“Local sporting clubs, as well as residents and families who want to run or kick a ball, will be able enjoy the new amenities, thanks to work that will be undertaken by Fairfield City Council,” Mayor Frank Carbone said.

“We want local families to continue to get out and get active, while also attracting local sporting clubs to call Tarlington Reserve home.” 

The amenities building will include:

• Showers and toilets including an accessible toilet

• Canteen

• Store rooms

• Team change rooms

• Referee’s change room

• Inside and outside lighting

• Back to base alarm. 

Work is expected to be completed in August 2019.

Council has for the past four years been investing in the renewal of its amenity buildings.

“Council has budgeted to invest $21.3 million over the next four years to build and renew our sporting amenity buildings across the City,” Mayor Carbone said.

“In the last year alone we have upgraded facilities at Makepeace Oval in Fairfield, Rosford Reserve and Smithfield Park in Smithfield, Fairfield Baseball Park, St Johns Park sportsground, Bosnjak Oval in Edensor Park and Knight Park in Yennora.

“The Tarlington Reserve works are yet another example of our commitment to building Fairfield City’s reputation as a great place to live, play, work, and raise a family.”

The funding comes from a voluntary planning agreement negotiated with Housing NSW and its Bonnyrigg Living Community project with Council providing in-house expertise to manage its delivery.
