Visitors to the Gannawarra Shire who use recreational vehicles, motor homes and caravans, as well as truck drivers, will continue to benefit from services available at the Kerang Saleyards.
Although cattle sales are currently not occurring on-site, travellers to the area will continue to be able to access shower facilities at the Markets Road site, with the on-site amenities available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
“The upgrade to the public toilets at Scoresby Street, Kerang and the site’s rejuvenation as an open garden public space means that there are no longer shower facilities on-site,” Mayor Lorraine Learmonth said.
“Council advises those travelling through the area who would like to access shower facilities to visit the Kerang Saleyards and use the amenities on-site.”
Meanwhile, truck drivers seeking a location to wash their vehicles can do so at the Kerang Saleyards after Council took over the management of the service following Scanclear Pty Ltd’s decision to relinquish its lease of the saleyards.
Users of the truck wash will be charged a rate of $0.5909 per minute (excluding GST), with the minimum charge being $3.00 (excluding GST).
“The truck wash can be accessed 24/7, and those wanting to use the truck wash who do not have a token should contact Council – either by visiting the Kerang Customer Service Centre or phoning (03) 5450 9333 – to purchase a token,” Mayor Learmonth said.
“Tokens cost $30 and enable users to operate the truck wash, both in Kerang and at any AvData facility across Australia.”
