Cardinia Shire Council’s residential hard and bundled green waste collection starts in Zone 1 on Tuesday 23 April 2019. The collection will run through five zones across the shire over five weeks.
Council has issued a hardcopy flyer with a map of the collection week zones via Australia Post this month and residents can also check their zone and collection week online at www.cardinia.vic.gov.au/hardwaste or by calling Customer Service on 1300 787 624.
Cardinia Shire Council’s Acting General Manager Assets and Services, Debbie Tyson said the free collection service was available to all households that utilise residential waste services provided by Cardinia Shire Council.
“Council’s free hard and bundled green waste collection service is a great way for residents to easily dispose of larger waste material around their property that would otherwise need to be taken to the rubbish tip.
“Residents can utilise the service for disposing of up to 2 cubic metres of acceptable hard and bundled green waste,” Ms Tyson said.
“Collection dates vary across the municipality, so please check your collection week before putting your waste materials out for collection. Waste can be put out the weekend before the collection starts but any waste put out earlier may be investigated as dumped rubbish.”
Accepted items should be stacked into five piles: general waste, e-waste, scrap metal and whitegoods, mattresses and couches and bundled/tied green waste.
“This free service is one of the ways we’re working with residents to keep Cardinia Shire clean, to improve access to services for residents, and to reduce and prevent illegal rubbish dumping across our shire,” Ms Tyson said.
