Joining the Dots – Family Oral Histories and delving into the Archives – 12 May
John Butler Cooper, journalist and historian, was the first person to extensively research the history of Brighton. His great granddaughter, Julie Spring, was fascinated by the stories she heard from her grandmother about family connection with the 19th century journalist "The Vagabond". Julie reconstructed JBC’s early life through historical archival research and international and local collaborations. This presentation is the story of her research journey.
