Council at its 15 April 2019 meeting considered the following issues:
104/19 SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING Council considered and approved a request to hold a Special Council Meeting at 5.00pm on Monday, 27 May 2019 to discuss and seek endorsement of the Northern Midlands Local Provisions Schedules to the Tasmanian Planning Scheme. Council resolved to support the five (5) Regional Priority Projects identified by Northern Tasmania Development Corporation Ltd for advocacy during the forthcoming Federal Election. It was resolved that Council agree to facilitate a Community Meeting, most likely in May subject to the support of City Park Radio and WayFM community radio stations. Council resolved to support an increase in the Waste Management Levy from $5.00 to $7.50 for the 2019-2022 period. 106/19 NORTHERN TASMANIA DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION LTD (NTDC): FEDERAL ELECTION ADVOCACY REGIONAL PROJECTS The following five (5) Regional Priority Projects have been identified by Northern Tasmania Development Corporation Ltd for advocacy during the forthcoming Federal Election: Population Program TRANSlink Launceston Gateway FermenTasmania Centre Bioenergy Plant Westbury Hydrogen Energy 110/19 HEART FM COMMUNITY RADIO STATION SUPPORT It was resolved that Council agree to facilitate a Community Meeting, most likely in May subject to the support of City Park Radio and WayFM community radio stations. 112/19 NORTHERN TASMANIAN WASTE MANAGEMENT GROUP: LANDFILL LEVY AMENDMENT Council resolved to support an increase in the Waste Management Levy from $5.00 to $7.50 for the 2019-2022 period.Council meeting minutes are available on the Northern Midlands Council website on www.northernmidlands.tas.gov.a... or alternatively a copy is available to view at Council Office in Smith Street, Longford.
