Community groups and event organisers are invited to apply for one of eight $500 Arts in August event grants before 24 May 2019.
Central Highlands Regional Council Mayor Kerry Hayes said the grants should encourage arts and culture event organisers to make this year’s Arts in August events stand out.
‘This year, council is supporting up to eight events with a $500 Arts in August grant each,’ he said.
‘To be eligible, events will need to be held by a local community group and meet the grant guidelines.’
Mayor Hayes said events can also be registered online to be on council’s Arts in August calendar and part of promotions.
‘Registered events can download a digital promotions kit, including a poster and social media tiles and will be featured across council’s platforms and Arts in August promotions,’ Mayor Hayes said.
‘The more events we have showcasing arts and culture in the Central Highlands, the better Arts in August will be.’
‘To register an event, organisers need to pitch in 500 words why the event should be part of Arts in August.’
Each year, the Arts in August campaign promotes the diversity of the Central Highlands’ thriving arts and culture sector, supporting local community projects and their development
