Liverpool City Council’s free Seniors Concert was a fantastic day out for the city’s seniors’ community.
Liverpool Mayor Wendy Waller joined 900 Liverpool seniors for two separate concerts at Liverpool Catholic Club on 17 and 18 April.
“Our free seniors’ concerts are a perennial favourite and tickets are usually fully booked in a matter of hours,” Mayor Waller said.
“Once again attendees were treated to fantastic entertainment and food at Liverpool Catholic Club and I thank all who helped to make our latest seniors’ concerts such a success.
“Talented vocalist Susannah Mirana took attendees back to the nostalgic sounds of the 1950s through to today, while Johnny V’s performance took inspiration from rock ‘n roll greats Roy Orbison, Rod Stewart and Johnny O’Keefe.”
Mayor Waller said the twice-yearly Seniors Concert was as an opportunity for Council and the wider community to acknowledge and celebrate the contributions seniors have made to Liverpool.
“One in five of our residents are now older than 55, so our Seniors Concert is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the contributions so many members of our community have made to our city in their lifetime,” Mayor Waller said.
“I look forward to celebrating again with our seniors’ community at our next Seniors Concert.”
