Daikin has achieved Australian Made certification for the first time ever on products made in its Liverpool factory.
Four of Daikin’s air conditioning units now bear the Australian Made symbol.
Daikin Australia Manufacturing Manager Nicholas MacDonald said the achievement was great news for Daikin and for consumers and businesses wanting to support the local economy.
“It makes me really proud to see the ‘Australian Made’ logo on Daikin products as they roll off our assembly line,” Mr MacDonald said.
“I know how hard our team has worked to realise this goal and I’m so proud of their efforts. We have quality products produced in our local factory, anchoring jobs and skills right here in Australia.”
Liverpool Mayor Wendy Waller congratulated the team at Daikin on their commitment to producing its products in Liverpool.
“Achieving Australian Made certification is no mean feat,” Mayor Waller said.
“It demonstrates to customers that by buying these products, they are supporting Australian jobs.
“Liverpool has a long history in manufacturing and this achievement shows the sector is still going strong in our city.”
Daikin’s Chipping Norton and Warwick Farm facilities employ 300 people.
