Those who have contributed to the preservation of our city's heritage will be honoured at the annual John Reid Heritage Awards this weekend.
The awards will be held at the Broken Hill City Library at 10am on April 27 as part of the Heritage Week celebrations.
The event will begin with a presentation titled 'What is the heritage of Broken Hill?' by Broken Hill's Heritage Advisor, Paul Davies.
Mr Davies' presentation will focus on the value of our Heritage Listing, and include unique and interesting facts about the many important heritage locations around our city.
The presentation will be followed by the Heritage Awards ceremony, with Mayor Darriea Turley to lead proceedings.
"Paul's knowledge and understanding of the city's history is astounding, and I'm sure we'll learn a few new and interesting things about Broken Hill," said Mayor Darriea Turley.
"And the presentation of heritage awards is always a highlight. We have so many people who have done wonderful things in regard to our heritage, so it will be great to recognise their efforts.”
Entry to the event is free, and refreshments and light snacks will be provided.
