Record keeping, tips on tax and workshops on social media marketing are a few of the workshops on offer for local business owners and entrepreneurs during May.

Tax essentials for small business workshops

The Australian Taxation Office are holding two free workshops for new businesses or for those who are thinking of starting a business.

The first is a tax essentials workshop on Wednesday 8 May from 10am–12pm and is followed by a record keeping for businesses not registered for GST on Wednesday 15 May from 10am–12pm.

Both workshops are free and being held in the Newman Room, Kyneton Town Hall, 129 Mollison Street in Kyneton.

Boost Business Facebook advertising workshop (ASBAS – Digital Solutions Program)

Want to learn more about using Facebook to advertise your business? 

Register for the Boost Business Facebook advertising workshop on Thursday 16 May from 9.30am–12.30pm at the Kyneton Community & Learning Centre.

The session will explore the essentials of Facebook advertising, including topics such as how to build custom audiences.

This workshop is part of the Australian Small Business Advisory Service (ASBAS) Digital Solutions program.

Participants who sign-up for the yearly program pay $55 and have access to workshops, tailored mentoring, webinars and an online learning portal throughout the year that explore topics such as social media marketing, Facebook advertising, Instagram and more.  

Advanced business Instagram workshop

Designed for existing Instagram users, participants at this interactive workshop will learn how to advance their skills and knowledge of Instagram.

This session is being facilitated by the Macedon Ranges Women in Business networking group, with social media specialist Zali Garrety, Director of The Online Wordsmith.

The workshop is being held on Saturday 18 May from 9am–12.30pm at Baringo Food and Wine Co, 283 Station Road, New Gisborne. The cost is $55 for Macedon Ranges Women in Business members, and $85 for others.

Building business profits

Find out how to improve your business profits at this mentoring session with The Business Action Coach, Milton Collins.

The session will explore: 

how to grow your profits tools you can use to measure how well you're doing marketing, and more.

The session is being held on Tuesday 21 May from 6pm–8pm at The Victoria Hotel, Woodend.

The cost is $20.

Places are limited, and bookings are essential.
