Residents looking for work, exploring education and training options, or are unsure about what career pathway to take will benefit from free career practitioner services.   Qualified career practitioner, Di Davies (pictured above with local teenager, Tayla Hore) will be based at Kerang’s Sir John Gorton Library on Wednesdays from 2pm to 4pm, providing assistance for those seeking assistance with career and training options.   “For many young people within the Gannawarra, once they have left school it can be difficult to get the support needed to help them plan a career pathway that matches their interests,” Gannawarra Shire Council Manager of Libraries, Kerri Sidorow said.   “Jobseekers living in the Gannawarra also face similar challenges, especially with changes occurring within many traditional industries.”   Services that are offered for free through during Ms Davies’ visits include resume and cover letter writing, answering key selection criteria for job applications, creating a LinkedIn profile and exploring possible further education or training pathways available locally.   “Sessions are open to residents of all ages, even those currently employed. No bookings are required,” Mrs Sidorow said.   For more details, phone the Gannawarra Library Service on (03) 5452 1546.
