More than 45 acts will take centre stage at the Burdekin Theatre this Saturday for the 2019 Burdekin Fast Track Talent Showcase.

Singers, dancers, musicians and dance groups are amongst the confirmed list of acts vying for more than $5,500 worth of prizes.

Burdekin Shire Youth Council Mayor Sarah McDonnell says this year’s prize list was the biggest on offer since the event first started in 2014.

“Thanks to the incredible generosity of our sponsors, there are nine different prize categories this year, including a new Grand Prize called Fast Track to Fame,” Miss McDonnell said.

“Two acts will earn an all-expenses paid trip to Melbourne to compete in the Fast Track national final later this year. This prize is incredibly exciting, because it means these two acts will be exposed to even more industry professionals, giving them a chance to further their careers.

“On behalf of Youth Council, I’d like to thank the Queensland Government and all our generous sponsors for making this event possible.”

Miss McDonnell said anyone wishing to register for the Burdekin Fast Track Talent Showcase should email their name and contact details to .

Heats will commence on Saturday 27 April from 11am with the Final Showcase featuring a performance by the 2018 Voice Grand Finalist Aydan commencing from 7pm.

Tickets for the heats ($10) and the Final Showcase ($25) can be purchased from the Burdekin Theatre Box Office, online at www.burdekintheatre.com.au or by phoning (07) 4783 9880.
