Liverpool City Council’s most exciting adventure playground, Casula Parklands, opens on Saturday, 4 May – and life in South West Sydney simply won’t be the same!
The $4 million project is packed with striking features designed to offer fun and excitement for everyone:
Ninja training circuit for adults and teenagers;Eight-metre-high Sky Walk and tunnel slide for older kids and teens;Swings;Accessible carousel;Dual flying foxes;Inclusive play equipment for all abilities;Toddler playground; andSeparate off-leash parks for big dogs and small dogs.“South West Sydney has never seen anything like this,” Liverpool Mayor Wendy Waller said. “We know everyone is going to love Casula Parklands.
“It’s great for kids but it’s also a place to bring the whole family, a place for all ages and all abilities – and we haven’t forgotten the family dog.”
The new playground will be officially opened on Saturday, 4 May by the Mayor during a gala day of live music, free light refreshments, face painting and fun activities for kids from 10am to 2pm at the Powerhouse Road site.
The opening of the adventure playground is part of a project to transform Casula Parklands into one of Sydney’s must-visit spots.
Already home to the world-class Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre, Casula Parklands now boasts a state-of-the-art adventure playground.
“The opening of Casula Parklands is a major step towards realising Liverpool City Council’s vision of a revitalised Georges River,” Mayor Waller said.
“We want to return the Georges River to the prominent position it deserves in our city. Ultimately, people will be able to walk, run and cycle from the Liverpool CBD to the Casula Powerhouse.
“And all along the river, people will live, eat, drink, exercise, sight-see, engage in cultural activities and just relax and enjoy a rare treasure in South West Sydney.
“It’s an opportunity we simply must, and will, take advantage of.”
