Round Two of Regional Arts Development Fund now open

Applications for Round Two of Council’s 2018/19 Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) is now open for projects being carried out between July and December 2019.

RADF Committee Chair Councillor Uli Liessmann said arts and cultural practitioners of all genres are encouraged to apply for the funding.

“The purpose of RADF is to not only to support local artists get their projects off the ground, but to also provide greater opportunities for the wider community to participate in arts and cultural activities,” Cr Liessmann said.

“The RADF application criteria is quite broad, so we hope to see a diverse range of applications this year.”

The RADF funding categories are:

Developing Individual Skills – For individual professional artists and artsworkers to attend professional development activities.Developing Group Skills – For groups and organisations to engage a professional or emerging artist to work with them on developing their arts practice or to run arts development workshops or community projects.Projects – To support projects that can demonstrate the inclusion of an arts component as part of the total project.Cultural Tourism – For projects and activities that focus on communities, locally distinct arts, culture and heritage.Contemporary collections/stories – To preserve and provide access to locally held collections and collect and tell local stories from the past and present.

Under the program, applicants can apply for up to $500 for Developing Individual Skills and up to $5,000 for all other application categories.

The Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) is a partnership between the Queensland Government and Burdekin Shire Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.

Applications close at 5pm on Tuesday 14 May.
