After more than five years in the role, East Arnhem Regional Council has recently accepted the resignation of Chief Executive Officer John Japp.
During his tenure with Council, Mr Japp oversaw the development of East Arnhem Regional Council’s (EARC) inaugural five year Corporate Plan, changes to the Local Government Act and establishment of Local Authorities in 2014, and the establishment of a Learning and Development Coordinator to support Council’s newly developed Learning Strategy.
“I want to firstly acknowledge and thank John for the work he did with Council during the past five years” said EARC President Kaye Thurlow.
“Announcing his resignation is not something I do lightly. His dedication to the people of East Arnhem Land, Yolŋu, Anindilyakwa and all others in our region was wholehearted and enthusiastic. We wish John all the best in his future endeavours. I also wish to thank our staff for the work they have done during this transition period ensuring Council services remains at our high level of delivery standards ” said President Thurlow.
