ANZAC Day commemorations were held across the Snowy Monaro to honour the men and women who have served their nation. At dawn and morning services we paused to remember the sacrifices of those who never returned home.
I attended the morning service in Cooma where hundreds of locals turned out to pay their respects. By all reports, there were large crowds at services throughout the region.
Council is pleased to support community organisations, events and individuals through our donations and sponsorship program.
If you’re seeking a donation or sponsorship between July to December 2019, then you need to make a request before Friday 24 May. Last year, Council was proud to support dozens of groups and initiatives, each making a difference in our community.
For further information on the application process, you can visit Council’s website or call Council on 1300 345 345.
Your feedback is vital in helping Council make decisions and plan for the future. Currently, there a number of items out on public exhibition, awaiting your input.
Out for community consultation is a proposal to change the operating hours of the Bredbo, Delegate, Nimmitabel and Numeralla Transfer Stations.
Due to a decline in usage levels at each transfer station, Council’s Waste Management Committee has recommended measures be investigated to address this decline.
Everyone can have their say by completing a survey. Online surveys are available on Your Say Snowy Monaro or hardcopy surveys can be collected at any Council office. Consultation closes at 5pm on Friday 24 May.
Feedback is also being accepted for the Local Management Plan for African Lovegrass. Council is asking the community to have their say on how best to manage African Lovegrass.
The plan can be viewed on Your Say Snowy Monaro or at any Council office. Submissions will be accepted online, via email, or by mail.
