The new and much-anticipated Avengers film has taken the world by storm since its release on Wednesday 24 April and Western Downs Cinemas was no exception.
The Chinchilla Cinema had three sell-out screenings with the momentum building as the crowds continue to roll in to see the blockbuster film.
Dalby Cinema also had two sell-out screenings with staff having to turn away 100 patrons on the Wednesday and 40 patrons on the Thursday.
Only six days into the showing, the Dalby Cinema already had 1199 patrons through the doors to see the movie on the big screen.
Western Downs Regional Council spokesperson for Council Facilities Councillor Ray Brown expressed his excitement on the huge number of patrons heading into the local cinemas.
“Western Downs Cinemas had its biggest screenings yet since Western Downs Regional Council took over the management, with people piling in to watch the new Avengers: Endgame film,” he said.
“It is incredibly important that we have facilities on offer for our community to come together and enjoy themselves. The fact that we are able to show these movies on their initial release date is fantastic and the public’s response to the Avengers release proves this.”
Currently the movie sits at the 21st biggest film of all time, so if you haven’t yet been to see the movie that everyone is talking about, it is still screening at Western Downs Cinemas.
