The City of Swan is pleased to award $5,000 to Experience Gidgegannup for its upcoming Gidgegannup Small Farm Field Day.
Gidgegannup Small Farm Field Day will be held at the Gidgegannup Showgrounds on Sunday, May 26.
The event will include talks, demonstrations, workshops, live entertainment, animal rides and much more.
This year the event is joined by the Honey Festival, with competitions for the best honey products.
The Slow Food Movement is hosting a full day tour including wine tastings and a luxurious long table lunch.
City of Swan Mayor David Lucas said that he is proud to support this important event in the agricultural calendar.
“Gidgegannup Small Farm Field Day is a great opportunity for people to have some fun and learn more about the rural lifestyle,” he said.
“There will be experts on hand to answer all of your farming questions and plenty of activities to keep the kids busy too.”
Swan Valley/Gidgegannup Ward Councillor Charlie Zannino said the City provides grants for events that increase awareness of the region and foster community spirit.
“Applications for up to $5,000 can be made at any time of the year, with bigger grants for major events offered twice a year,” he said.
“The Gidgegannup Small Farm Field Day is an iconic local event and I am delighted that the City is contributing to its success.”
