Gympie Regional Council, in conjunction with Queensland Fire and Emergency Services, are inviting human service organisations to attend the Disaster Preparedness Workshop, which will be offered in conjunction with the Cooloola Human Services Network meeting that will immediately follow the workshop.
The event will be held on Thursday 9 May, 12.00pm to 2.00pm at The Gympie Civic Centre, 24 Mellor Street, Gympie.
This free interactive workshop will assist human service organisations prepare for a major emergency event, where property is damaged, power is lost or services are disrupted.
There will be a variety of topics covered, including how different disasters would impact your services, how to contact your clients during a disaster, how to access important information and support and what resources your organisation could contribute to broader community responses.
Workshop these issues and more so your organisation has a plan of action before, during and after a disaster. Free refreshments and light lunch will be provided.
