Best-selling author Fiona McCallum to speak at Mildura and Wentworth

Published on 08 May 2019

Best-selling Australian author Fiona McCallum will speak at the Mildura and Wentworth libraries this month, providing a unique opportunity to hear what inspires her literary works of art.

Fiona will be in the region on Monday 13 May, visiting the Wentworth Library at 2pm before speaking at the Mildura library at 5.30pm.

Described as a “master storyteller”, Fiona has written 10 best-selling novels which have sold more than 300,000 copies. Her latest work, A Life of Her Own, has just been released and is her 11th book.

Councillor Mark Eckel encouraged Sunraysia residents to take advantage of the chance to hear first-hand accounts of the process and work involved in writing a best-selling novel.

“It’s one thing to read a best-selling novel, but to be able to then speak to the author behind that work is a special opportunity,” Cr Eckel said.

“Whether it’s hearing how Fiona came to be an author and what inspires her works, or simply asking a question about a particular novel, or section of a novel, this month’s visit to our region is a boon for both book-lovers and aspiring writers.”

Fiona McCallum was raised on a farm in South Australia, and while she now lives in Adelaide, still considers herself a country girl at heart.
