Council has two new community buses and is asking the community to help name them.
Fairfield City Mayor Frank Carbone said he is proud to announce that the new 21-seat community buses, which are wheelchair accessible, are available now for community groups to use.
“The buses are for the community so we want to hear residents’ ideas on a name for each bus,” Mayor Carbone said.
“The buses provide affordable and accessible transport for community groups. They are an essential service by Council for the community.
“The buses allow residents without access to affordable transport to enjoy full social lives, get out and about and be active, meet with friends, enjoy events and access essential services and are not housebound.
“I am looking forward to seeing some great name suggestions from our residents for the buses.
“However, Bussey McBus Face will not be considered!”
The old buses were called Discovery and Voyager.
Residents can submit name ideas via email to [email protected]. Please put in the subject line ‘Bus”. Submissions close 7 June 2019.
