2019 International Food Festival Delights Community

Held as part of the City’s Summer Series of free, family-friendly, smoke-free and alcohol-free events, about 5000 festival-goers enjoyed different flavours from around the world.
During the event, 21 food vendors provided dishes from nations including Spain, Japan, New Zealand, India, Nepal, Italy, the United States of America, Lebanon, the Netherlands, Vietnam and France.
A lively program of cultural performances from groups including Akwaaba Drumming, Yonga Boys, Rockingham Filipino Dancers and Peel Multicultural Association Persian Dancers also delighted the crowds.
City of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels thanked the community and hardworking food vendors for making the event a huge success.
"The City of Rockingham International Food Festival always delivers a smorgasbord of delicious dishes from around the world and the latest edition was no exception," Mayor Sammels said.
"Our City is home to people from countries all over the world and it is occasions like the International Food Festival that help us celebrate the rich diversity of cultures that make Rockingham such an amazing place to live.
"The City thanks all festival-goers and the food vendors who provided the culinary delights for making the 2019 International Food Festival the biggest and best yet."
The International Food Festival was held by the City as part of Harmony Week. Harmony Week focuses on inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of their cultural or linguistic background.
Festival-goers who attended are invited to give the City feedback on the event by completing a quick online survey.
