International Food Festival 2019
City of Rockingham 10 May 2019

Hosted as part of the City’s Summer Series of free, family-friendly, smoke-free and alcohol-free events, the International Food Festival will give visitors the chance to enjoy different flavours from around the world.

During the event about 20 food vendors will provide delicious dishes from a smorgasbord of nations including Spain, Japan, New Zealand, India, Nepal, Italy, the United States of America, Lebanon, the Netherlands, Vietnam and France.

There will also be a lively program of cultural performances from groups including Yonga Boys, Akwaaba Drumming, Rockingham Filipino Dancers and Peel Multicultural Association Persian Dancers. Free children’s activities, including creating a peg doll, family banner and paper lantern, will also be available.

City of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels encouraged residents to head down to the Village Green and be part of the 2019 International Food Festival.

"In recent years the International Food Festival has grown to become one of the biggest events on the City’s calendar, with thousands taking up the opportunity to enjoy food from a variety of different countries," Mayor Sammels said.

"The event has become a very popular celebration of our City’s wide range of multicultural influences. Whether you’ve got a sweet tooth, or can’t resist savoury dishes, there is something to suit everyone’s tastes, so I encourage all residents to join us in this fantastic festival of flavour."

Attendees are encouraged to use public transport, with services on the 555 bus route extended to 10pm, operating on a 15-minute frequency. Nearby parking is available at the Gary Holland Community Centre and behind the Rockingham Museum.
