Romance on the Green was held as part of the City’s Summer Series of free, family-friendly, smoke-free and alcohol-free events. About 8,500 concert-goers enjoyed a range of orchestra classics, classic rock hits and musical theatre anthems from the PSO and special guests, who were conducted by the acclaimed Jessica Gethin.
City of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels thanked the PSO and concert-goers for making the event a special occasion for the third year in a row.
"The PSO and special guests, conducted by Jessica Gethin, always put on a fantastic show and the latest edition of Romance on the Green was no exception," Mayor Sammels said.
"It was terrific to see residents of all ages and backgrounds come down to the Village Green on Flinders Lane and enjoy a variety of different tunes.
"The PSO provided music for a wide range of tastes and I’m delighted to say that the feedback the City has received on the event has been outstanding once again."
During Romance on the Green the audience was treated to renditions of classic songs including Fields of Gold, The Prayer, Great Southern Land and Circle of Life.
Concert-goers who attended are invited to give the City feedback on the event by completing a quick online survey.
