New Year Celebrations
City of Rockingham 10 May 2019

As part of the City’s Summer Series of free, family-friendly, smoke-free and alcohol free events, thousands of visitors were able to enjoy live entertainment, free children’s activities and a selection of food vendors at the foreshore.

Hit Factory, Abbasalutely, LIVE WIRE and a range of local artists rocked out on stage throughout the evening, which was capped off by fireworks displays at 9pm and midnight.

City of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels thanked revellers for enjoying the evening responsibly.

“The City’s New Year’s Eve Celebration has become a fantastic annual event that attracts thousands of visitors and I thank everyone who attended for enjoying the night in a responsible manner,” Mayor Sammels said.

“The event is a huge spectacle for our City and it was a pleasure to see residents enjoying the waterfront during the Rockingham Beach Foreshore Revitalisation’s summer break.”

Works on stage one of the Rockingham Beach Foreshore will resume on Monday 18 February 2019, with people encouraged to continue visiting the wide range of shops, restaurants, cafes and bars at the foreshore throughout the rest of the summer shutdown period.

“2019 is shaping up to be another exciting year of growth and development for our City and we wish everyone in our community a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.”
