Autumn Centre E-Bike, Trike and Scooter Expo
City of Rockingham 10 May 2019

The expo, which is a free public event, will highlight the range of benefits associated with using alternative forms of transport. These include motorised scooters, mobility scooters, electric wheelchairs, e-bikes, trikes and regular bicycles, none of which require a licence to ride.

Trade displays from local and state suppliers will be available, while the Autumn Centre will also launch its very first “recharge point” to assist those who travel via an electric form of transport. The recharge point is the first point that will be part of a network of charging stations across the City that allows mobility scooter users to recharge at various locations.  Future locations will be made available once finalised.

Mayor Barry Sammels said Rockingham had the ideal climate for riding a scooter or bicycle.

"Rockingham experiences days with sunshine for nearly two-thirds of the year, making it a near perfect climate for people looking to ride a bicycle or scooter," Mayor Sammels said.   "As our City grows, finding parking close to where you need to go is also becoming harder. However, when you ride a scooter or bike, you are often able to park right near the entrance or even inside the destination you are travelling to.

"Fuel prices are also making the option of riding an electric bike or scooter all the more attractive and practical for many residents."

Exhibitors including Mandurah Scooters, Independent Living Centre WA, Unicare Health, Emprise Mobility, Ebikers Fremantle, Bluesky Healthcare, Avantiplus Rockingham, Bike Place Baldivis and Scooters2U will be on hand to provide information and access to over 50 modes of transport at the expo.

The Rockingham E-Bike, Trike and Scooter Expo will run from 9am–12pm at the Autumn Centre.
