Autumn Centre Turns 25

The Autumn Centre offers an active and social environment for people over the age of 50 to pursue personal interests and create support networks. It is also open to people with disability over the age of 18 accompanied by a carer.

From 9am–12pm on 24 October the Autumn Centre will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a free celebration that includes have-a-go activities, information stalls, arts and crafts and a big morning tea.

Members of the public will be able to learn all about the benefits of becoming a member. The centre’s café and dining room will be open.

City of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels encouraged residents to join in the 25th anniversary celebrations.

"Since opening in 1993, the City of Rockingham Autumn Centre has consistently been a focal point for community activity," Mayor Sammels said.

"While the City may have changed a lot since the mid-1990s, I’m delighted to see that the Autumn Centre remains as popular as ever in 2018.

"The continued success of the Autumn Centre is a testament to the members who make it such a fantastic place, and the City staff who continually strive to provide an engaging and welcoming place for them to visit."

The centre presents a comprehensive range of activities and events year round, including dance and fitness classes, arts and crafts, games and support groups, excursions, and services including podiatry and hairdressing. 

The Autumn Centre is located on McNicholl Street in Rockingham, next to City Park and is open Monday to Friday from 8.30am–4.30pm.
